I have been thinking about time a lot lately. What if we had an unlimited amount of it? What would you do if you had extra time? Would you even want to live for longer than what we live at present? Is 80 to 100 years enough to do the things you want to do?
Say our life span was 1000 instead of 100. You could practice your craft for 100 maybe 200 years. You could have ten or twenty different careers. You could make discoveries that would help humanity in ways that we could only imagine. I imagine that one day we will be able to live vastly longer periods of time. I fact there are some scientist that are working on that problem right now. Some say that within a span of about 40 to 50 years science will be able to fix our DNA. That means, in theory, we wouldn't have to age at all. In theory that is. I would love to be one of the first to have my DNA fixed, and to be restored back to youth. I would like to say on the colonies of Mars, that today is my birthday and I'm 700 years old. I would like to be able to tell people about our history. I would hope that I would have knowledge that people would want to know about. I would like children to ask, "Mister, you were really born in 1974?", and "What was it like to live in those days?" Maybe people would wonder why I chose to live that long, or maybe they would just think it was normal. I guess I have always dreamed of a time where we were truly civilized and anything was possible.
