The Idea of creative visualization is to think about an end goal, or something that you want in life and keep it there until it comes to reality. I've been working on this for a while now. Sometimes it's not the easiest thing to do, because I need to block out the rest of the world for a while every day in order to imagine the end goal in my head and really believe it will happen.
A good example of me being able to do this is the house that Peter and I are living in right now. Almost every day after we found this house I thought about it. Not only did I put the image of it into my mind, but I imagined myself living here. I imaged changing the yard to the way I wanted it. I imagined driving up to the house every day after work. I did all the day to day things I needed to do in my head, but in my mind I was already doing them here. And now that I live here I'm starting to imagine home improvements that need to be done, and I keep on going with what I want. It's amazing how things come together the way that they need to. I'm a strong believer that what you sent out into the universe comes back to you. In other words, if you send out positive thoughts and ideas, that is what you will get back. If you send out negative thoughts and ideas, you will get negativity back. So, this year lets try our best to send out positive thoughts and ideas. Lets keep our end goals in mind, and lets get what we want out of life. Life is supposed to be happy, and we can choose to make it that way. Be thankful every day for what we have. Send those thoughts out, and we will get that back.

This weekend was good. We weren't able to get everything done that we wanted to, but we did go to a builders show at the Convention Center, and we went to Ikea and got a media cabinet with money that we got from my parents for Christmas. Thank you Mom and Dad! Also, I was able to get some much needed sleep. I have had a lot on my mind lately with planning for our new roof and solar panels we are getting installed. We are all set for the project to start, and the roof will be installed either late this week, or the following week.
Well, it is a start of a new year, and I know that 2015 will be great. We have a lot of projects planned for this year. After the roof, we will be painting the house, and working on improving the yard. Eventually we are going to have a water feature in the front and a Koi pond in the back. I can't wait. I really missed having those features from when we lived in our fairview house. There is something about the sound of water that instantly calms you. It really makes a difference. Also, at this house it will be even better because we don't have the air traffic that we had in Fairview. We are really going to have a tranquil little oasis here. Getting a gas fireplace will also be a goal for 2015. That will be a big expense, but with the right planning we will be able to do it. When we have the solar panels done they are going to remove a large blue spruce tree in the front of the house, and we have decided to have them leave some of the wood behind. We are going to use one of the logs for our mantle. I think that will add some really nice character to our living room. I just love the idea. It would seem like such a waste to just give away all of that wood. We might even use some more of the wood for other projects, but we are not sure yet. Send out good vibes for a lot of sales on my web site. We will need it. Happy New Year to everyone. I wish everyone has a great year, and I can't wait to have some fun with everyone this year. I was feeling nostalgic tonight so I decided to add a combined self portrait that I drew in the late 80's and early 90's to my store. This was done when I was just starting high school. I colorized it later. I think it is fun and a bit strange. Come take a look and please share this post. I have also added some new photography to my store. The images are of Mt. Hood and the lake that was formed because of the May 18th 1980 Eruption of Mt. St. Helens.
Peter and I have to get a new roof. This weekend we are having a roofer over to start the process. What I'm asking you, my Facebook friends to do is to share the link to my site and store so that I will be able to sell a few things to raise a little money for the project. I have some down time this weekend, so I will have time to get a new design up, and I will post it as soon as it is available. Thank you for all your help.
Much love, Justin and Peter One more thing before I go to bed tonight. I have started to add some more stories to my site, and I would love to hear some feedback. Please post comments. Also, I will get back to the Mars story line. If you are reading it hang in there. There has been a lot going on in my life lately. Happy Reading!
This weekend was productive. Today I painted an accent wall in the living room. I have to see it in the daylight, but as of right now I really love the color. It is still an earth tone, but not the normal set of warm browns and orange tones that Peter and I have normally been drawn to. It is a great warm green color that looks like it will go well with our brown furniture and accessories. I can't wait to get the rest of our things from Chicago. Also, I'm now able to see our fireplace in my mind. I can see the tile that we are going to use for the surround, and the glow of the light of the walls. Sometimes when I look at the now blank walls, I can almost feel the heat coming from the flames. It makes me so happy. All I have to do is look around me to realize how blessed Peter and I are.
On that note, Peter started to prep some of the food for Thanksgiving. I'm so looking forward to having my family with us next week. It means so very much to me that we can host them for a wonderful meal. For years we weren't able to one reason or another, so the fact that we are able to this year is really great. My hope is this will be the start to a truly wonderful holiday season. Happy Holidays to anyone who reads this. May you be able to spend it with your family as well. With that I will say good night. I'm starting to get some new ideas for my short story blog. Sorry to anyone reading that I haven't kept up with that. I have been very consumed with my new job, and house lately. I'm hoping to get back into it. Also I have been pondering some ideas for new product on my store. I started to draw tonight, but I could get anything out. It will come soon though.
On another note, Peter and I re-seed our lawn today. We are starting to formulate some fun ideas for the yard. We are very much looking forward to next years planting. I think I'm going to have a fun flower garden, some sort of water feature, and a rose garden. I have been doing a lot of thinking lately about my grandfather. He always had roses in his yard. So, the roses will in honor of him. I have two rose bushes that Iv'e nursed back to health. They will be the first two I will transplant in the place that I want them. It will be nice to say hello to him when I'm working in that space. I'm starting to offer new t-shirt designs on my website. Come pick one up and it will help us fund our trip back to Chicago to get the rest of our stuff. Just go to just0indesign.com and click on the store link. Hoping to have the funds by next summer. If you don't see something you like check back. I will announce when new designs go up.
Today was a fun day today. Along with starting a business plan, I sold one of my t-shirt designs from Cafe Press. And it was a complete stranger. It was my first real sale. I'm so excited! Thank you to Mary from Georgia. Well I guess this means I will have to put out some new designs. It has been too long since I have done any drawings, but I'm now more inspired. I will post when I have a new design to share.
Yesterday I went to an impromptu birthday party at Chris Ritchey's apartment. I had a really fun time. Thank you Chris, and everyone who was there. It made my birthday very special. Also, I did a little dancing with Peter at CC's. I haven't done that for a long time, and it was good to get out. I'm so very thankful for the people I have in my life.
So, now that my 40th year is about to begin, my birthday being on Wednesday, just to put it out there, I feel like I'm finally coming into my own. I have a lovely man that I love very dearly, a house that we love to share, and wonderful friends to help us celebrate life. I'm looking forward to the next 40 years of life's journey. It is new chapter that makes me very excited. I guess that's all I have to say for now, except let us all go forth and celebrate life with as much happiness as we can. |
