Hot summer day

Yesterday was the hottest day of the year at 102°. It seems so strange to me that we would be at the end of August before the temperature would get this high. Maybe next year we will have a normal summer. I'm a little sad that we haven't had the weather that we had last year. It has been very hard to grow crops this year. Most of them have been failures. The most disappointing is the pumpkin crop. We have only had about four pumpkins compared to last year when we had dozens of them. We are still planning on having our harvest party, but I think we will have to buy some pumpkins and place them around the yard for the kids to pick out. Sad but true. I can't believe the fall holiday season is coming so quickly. Starting to make plans in my head. It's going to be a fun end of this year.
